This Cookie Policy explains how NoSTDs uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) when you visit our website, what each one is for, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
We take a privacy-first approach: the only cookies set before you make a choice are the ones strictly necessary to run the site securely. Functional and analytics cookies are never loaded until you opt in through our cookie banner, in line with the requirements of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and, for visitors in the EU/UK, the GDPR.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. "Local storage" and "session storage" are related browser mechanisms we use to keep small pieces of data — such as your sign-in session or your chosen testing location — on your device. We refer to all of these simply as "cookies" below.
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept all, reject everything non-essential, or choose category by category. Here is exactly what falls into each category.
2.1 Strictly necessary (always on)
These are required for the platform to work and cannot be switched off. Blocking them will sign you out and may stop parts of the site — such as viewing your verified status — from working.
- nostds_token_user / nostds_token_clinic / nostds_token_admin / nostds_token_api — your sign-in (authentication) tokens for each portal. Read on the server so the correct signed-in state renders immediately. Expire after about 30 days.
- nostds_cookie_consent — remembers the cookie choices you made here, so we don't ask again on every page. Kept for up to one year.
- Google reCAPTCHA — set by Google to protect our sign-up, login, and contact forms from bots and abuse. See "Third-party cookies" below.
- sidebar:state — remembers whether the dashboard sidebar is open or collapsed.
2.2 Functional (optional)
These remember choices you make so the site feels personal. Loaded only if you allow the "Functional" category.
- Saved testing location — the city/area you chose or allowed us to detect, so we can show centres near you without asking each visit (stored in your browser's local storage).
- Saved centres — labs or clinics you bookmark.
- Map & interface preferences — small settings that make maps and the dashboard behave the way you left them.
2.3 Analytics (optional)
These help us understand how the site is used, in aggregate, so we can improve it. They never identify you personally, and — importantly — they are only loaded after you grant consent. If you decline, no analytics scripts or cookies are placed at all.
- Google Analytics (_ga, _gid) — measures anonymous, aggregate usage such as which pages are visited. We enable IP anonymisation. Loaded only with your consent.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by trusted services we rely on:
- Google — reCAPTCHA (form security, strictly necessary), Google Maps/Places (to show and search testing centres), and, only with your consent, Google Analytics. Google processes this data under its own privacy terms.
- Razorpay — our payment gateway may set cookies during checkout to process your payment securely. We never store your full card or bank details on our servers.
We do not use cookies for advertising, and we never use your health information for ad targeting.
4. Managing Your Choices
- Change your mind any time: click "Cookie Preferences" in the website footer to reopen the banner and update or withdraw your consent.
- Browser controls: you can block or delete cookies and clear local storage through your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out.
- Do Not Track: because optional cookies are off by default until you opt in, declining the banner already achieves the same result.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the technologies or services we use. When the set of cookies changes materially, we re-show the consent banner so you can review your choices. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest revision.
